Meshari Graduates From MIZZOU With His Master's Degree

He did it!!!!    Meshari attended the MU Graduate School's commencement ceremony Saturday, May 12, 2012.  Jenny was there to witness the wonderful occasion and to try to take pictures, but there were thousands of visitors and hundreds of graduates.  After the ceremony, Meshari dropped by our home so we could get some quality photos with him.

The MU Graduate School's May 12, 2012 Commencement Ceremony - at the Hearnes Center - 7:30 p.m.  There were lots of family and friends cheering for their graduates.

I managed to spot Meshari approaching the stage and took this photo.

Meshari and Gahee - our first two homestay guests.  Meshari will return home to Saudi Arabia and become a husband in July!!!   Gahee will spend the summer with family in Korea and continue her studies at MU this fall.

Doesn't our graduate look happy????  (Jenny with
                                           Meshari)

When Meshari came in with his academic attire on, George
put on his Ph.D. academic attire in honor of this special day.

It seems like only yesterday when we first met Meshari.  He has worked very diligently and can now begin a new chapter of his life.  I'm sure his family and friends in Saudi Arabia are anxious to celebrate with him.  Much happiness and many blessings to you, Dear Meshari.

Dinner at Tequila - a Local Mexican Restaurant

Tonight we had dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Tequila in Columbia, MO a day before the Mexican holiday Cinco de Mayo.  Joining us were Vy, Ahn, Gahee, Taein, and our friend, Bonnie.  The food was plentiful, and those of us 21 and older enjoyed some margaritas.  The first pitcher of margaritas didn't taste like it had any alcohol, but the second pitcher of margaritas definitely did.  Fortunately, Vy, Ahn, and Gahee could have driven us home if needed.  We had good food and conversation to celebrate the end of the semester, Taein's graduation from the MU School of Journalism, and George's silliness after enjoying some margaritas.

Does George look like he's enjoying his margarita???

A group photo.  Look how relaxed George looks.
Jenny and Bonnie have an expression that says,
" I better not have any more margaritas."

Thumbs up with Vy, Anh, and our server.

The Semester Is Ending!!!!

Spring semester is ending and everyone is certainly ready.  Finals take place starting next week.  I know Gahee, Vy, and Anh are ready to have a break from school, and I am, too.  I'm tired of spending so much time grading papers, so having the summer off will be wonderful!  I have plenty of house projects to work on.

Meshari will graduate with his master's degree.  Wow!  Those two years went by quickly. We're having dinner with him next Friday to celebrate.

Taein, Gahee's friend, will graduate with a degree in journalism.  Gahee plans to go to Korea for the summer.  She'll return with two cousins who will live in a nearby apartment.  Vy and Anh will visit friends in California for a while.   George and I will both take separate trips to check up on our elderly parents from time to time.

The end of a semester...it's a time of transition...a time to look forward to a bit of relaxation.
