Summer Heats Up Way Too Early

We are between school sessions now - between spring semester and summer school - and the weather here in mid-Missouri is in the 90s F.   That's way too hot for most of us.

Ali seems to like the hot temperatures, but then he's from Saudi Arabia.  The heat is no problem for him.  He walks around in the heat as if it's a pleasant spring morning.  Gahee and I wilt as soon as we walk out the door.  We hate this kind of heat.  Here in Missouri it is more humid than in Arizona or New Mexico...so when it's this hot, it is uncomfortable.

Gahee starts summer school classes tomorrow and George will be teaching some classes as well.   Ali is waiting to hear from some universities about his acceptance.  We are optimistic that he'll hear good news soon - within a week or so.

This summer I'll be working on some house projects, spending time with grandchildren, visiting my elderly parents a few times, and getting my class materials ready for the fall semester.  In August, we are expecting two young ladies to join us for homestay - Vi and Anh.  They plan to share a room and just finished the spring semester in California.  They will be transferring to the University of Missouri-Columbia to finish their bachelor's degrees and will arrive in Columbia August 11.

I can see already that the summer will go by quickly, but we hope to make some happy memories with friends and family.
