Next step: Fundamentals of Driving with Jenny.
We drive to a large church parking lot and practice the fundamentals: turning right and left....becoming familiar with how the steering wheel works....checking mirrors and using them....going forward and going backwards....shifting from park to drive to reverse...getting comfortable with the gas and brake peddles, etc.
And she's doing quite well....even though it's a bit scary at times.
We've had two practice sessions and we agreed to try to go every day whenever possible. Then, when she thinks she's ready, she'll begin real lessons with a professional driving instructor.
I will not....note: WILL NOT ... take her driving on real streets, roads, and highways. She'll have to pass the driving test first. But I know that as she gets more experience and lots of practice time...she will be fine.
